2009 TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The below policies are binding on all customers and on all orders from The Outdoor Store. By placing an order with us, the customer acknowledges and accepts the below Terms and Conditions in full.
We're proud to offer FREE GROUND SHIPPING on every order over $100.00 within the contiguous United States. Orders received before 11:00 AM Pacific Time are usually shipped the same day. No Shipping on weekends or holiday's. Delivery times do not include weekends or holidays.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
- We currently only accept Visa/MasterCard/American Express or Discover cards issued by U.S. and Canadian banks.
- Debit cards (also called check cards, ATM cards or banking cards) which display a Visa or MasterCard logo on the front.
- Money Orders and personnel checks are accepted, but may take 7 business days to process your order. Please do not send cash.
- We do not accept purchase orders - All orders must be paid for at time of purchase.
- We're sorry, but at this time we do not ship internationally. We DO NOT accept money orders or credit cards issued by foreign (non-U.S./Canadian) banks.
SHIPPING TERMS
- We do not charge for Ground shipping within the contiguous United States on orders above $100.00, orders below $100.00 are charged our standard shipping fees unless stated otherwise. (see chart below)
- Standard shipping within the contiguous United States is by UPS ground service. UPS Next Day Air, 2nd Day Air and 3 Day Select is available at an additional cost. Any additional costs will be added to your final invoice total.

- Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii and Canada may require additional shipping charges. Standard shipping varies depending on reliability, convenience, and cost.
- Any additional shipping costs related to the delivery of the package will be charged to your credit card. We will notify you with any additional shipping charges.
- No Hazardous Materials, ORMD or backorders on shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canadian orders.
- We reserve the right to change or limit freight allowances at any time.
(HAZ-MAT) HAZARDOUS MATERIAL SHIPMENTS
- HAZ-MAT & ORMD products cannot be shipped via air freight, and cannot ship to APO/FPO.
- HAZ-MAT fees will be applied to each box containing Hazardous Materials. (50lb max product weight per box)
- There will be a $25 charge per box for all HAZ-MAT type 'DG' shipments. Customer is responsible for all HAZ-MAT charges.
- All HAZ-MAT type 'CC' (ORMD) has to ship via ground only, but no fee will be incurred.
- All HAZ-MAT items ship separately. Therefore, they cannot be shipped in the same package with any other items ordered. Additional charges may apply.
- HAZ-MAT items (mainly fuel) ship within 24 hours of order placement (This does not apply to ORMD items, such as insect repellants & sealers)

MILITARY SHIPPING
We are proud to ship our products to our brave servicemen and women overseas to the following APO/FPO military addresses. Orders cannot be sent via UPS Ground. USPS Priority Mail* is the method of shipping. Expedited delivery options are not available. Packages are shipped with return signature required to confirm the delivery. Please use one of the following Armed Forces codes as your state abbreviation in the Ship-To portion of your order:
- Armed Forces Africa - AE
- Armed Forces Americas - AA (Central & South)
- Armed Forces Canada - AE
- Armed Forces Europe - AE
- Armed Forces Middle East - AE
- Armed Forces Pacific - AP
- Fleet Post Office (Navy) - FPO
*Please note that the delivery time by USPS to APO/FPO addresses vary and it is out of our control. Sometimes it takes a very long time. We occasionally, although rarely experience package loss by USPS. We cannot ship HazMat items to these addresses.
SHIPPING TO CANADA (Will Require Additional Shipping Charges)
Just about everything shipped into Canada is subject to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) of seven percent. The GST is calculated after customs duties have been applied. You will also have to pay the applicable Canadian Provincial Sales Tax (PST) or Quebec Sales Tax (QST). In Canadian provinces with a Harmonized Sales Tax (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador), you'll be charged a flat 15 percent, rather than separate GST and PST.
- The Outdoor Store is not responsible for the duties and taxes on items shipped into Canada.
- The duties, taxes and Customs fees are the sole responsibility of the intended receiver.
- Canadian orders may take an additional amount of time for delivery due to customs clearance.
BACKORDERS
- Unless otherwise specified backorders may be automatically shipped by ground up to 10 days after the original order has shipped. After 30 days, all backorders will be cancelled unless further notified.
- All orders contaning out-of-stock items will be placed on backorder/hold and you will be sent notification via email.
- You will have the option of waiting for the item to arrive, make changes or cancel your order.
- All backorder items will be shipped at the time the product becomes available along with the rest of your order (if applicable)... We do not partial ship any orders
SHIPPING DISCREPANCIES
- All shipping discrepancies must be reported within 5 business days of receipt of merchandise.
- Discrepancies reported after 5 business days will not be allowed.
- All returns, exchanges and warranties require a Return Authorization number (R.A.#).
- You must contact our Returns Department for an R.A.# before returning any merchandise.
- To ensure proper credit, please clearly mark the R.A.# on the outside of the box with your returned merchandise. The Returns Department will tell you the most efficient means of return.
- All products returned will be subject to a minimum 15% restock fee. (Exchanges are excluded)
- Returns of items that The Outdoor Store special orders from the manufacturer will not be allowed. This includes items not in the catalog or unusually large quantities of catalog items.
- The Outdoor Store allows the return of non-defective items for up to 30 days after the invoice date. Any exceptions to this rule is at our sole discretion.
- No returns on food items, special orders, or discontinued items.
- Orders returned by a delivery carrier as refused, bad address, or any other reason without prior notification or authorization will be subject to a minimum 15-75% restock fee at The Outdoor Store's discretion.
CLIMBING GEAR RETURNS
- For liability reasons and your personal safety, we cannot accept returns on any climbing hardware or ropes at any time (excluding warranty situations or shipping errors). We will only accept returns on harnesses if tried on but never used. If you tie in, it's yours.
WARRANTY
- After 30 days, please send all warranty returns to the manufacturer by following warranty instructions included with the product. Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear.
- Warranty or defective products may take up to 10-15 business days for replacement.
ANTI-FRAUD POLICY
- FRAUDULENT ORDERS: We will provide your IP (Computer Address) to the users ISP (Internet Service Provider), local authorities and will also report this activity to the International Anti-Fraud Task Force (IAFT), FBI, The perpetrator's local Police Department and The Internet Fraud Complaint Center (IFCC). Camping Comfortably considers fraud a direct and serious threat. We do not take any effort to defraud lightly and will prosecute whenever and wherever possible to the fullest extent of the law.
